and Ninawah said...

my dear friend, whom we will call ninawah for now, sent an email i'd like to share on my blog because we need to hear these words, ALL OF US AS LEBANESE:

lebanese prisoners in exchange for israeli prisoners..and let the whole world condemn..i spit in their faces all of them...we are right and lebanon will remain as our prime minister said..our morales are high back home..very very high..

all this blood shed is not only for the prisoner it is the blind hatred the israelis and their army have for all of us lebanese. Do you think they would let us live in peace??They will find other excuses to repeat this..do we continue living in humiliation?? not any more!

they have not won yet,not in palestine, not in lebanon.. despite 50 years of international support, all the investments placed into that hostile so called country!..they are not living in peace at their home, they are migrating and leaving the stolen land, just like they forced us to do..and we will prevail!!!

we will stand strong..and let the one who lasts longer win..they are panicking, they will lose!!

all of you who have been used to losing and living under the idea of weakness..all this will change, and you will see..keep demolishing your morales, and stay in the defeated attitude..back home they are awake, and ready for the challenge..keep sleeping and dream of your beach resorts and your parties till the morning..you can get those anywhere else, if lebanon is no more..but the people who remain there..they need that country because it is theirs to live in, not tour!

  • Rouba, Ninawah's words are so heartfelt. I just hope they do not anger fellow lebanese bloggers.

I agree with most of what Ninawah said. I highly doubt Israel is serious about peace and no I won't give her the benefit of the doubt.

But a few questions are starting to formulate in my head regarding this whole mess. My hope of a better and stronger tomorrow still manages to suppress them.

  • Ninawah is right...I was fuming against HA the first day..but now, after seeing all of this. Knowing they want to burn us alive, all I say is WE ARE THE ONLY ARAB NATION WHO COULD HOLD THEIR HEAD UP AND SAY WE DID NOT SURRENDER..this is hate and aggression against the Lebanese people because they did chose to resist in the past..I walk the streets in here with one thought in my head I AM PROUD TO BE LEBANESE...Not a million air raid will take that away..

  • hey you know what ?? when this is over, we should write a petition or a letter to our lebanese goverment asking them to add one very important paragraph to our constitution. The aim would be to ban and forbid any future goverment to get involved in any kind of peace agreement or talks with israel in the coming 500 years.

  • guys sorry to burst your bubble, but israel is staying, and until we all learn to live together in peace, we will not prosper.

we have the right to be mad at the israeli government right now, but please dont generalize to the israeli people, a lot of them just like us want peace.

  • mono, I would generally agree but right now I am not in the mood.

Right now I am too devastated to be able to praise any of their virtues. I would rather focus on condemning their vice!

Please, allow me to indulge myself in that. Is that too much to ask when being burnt and killed?

Besides, I am yet to read one Israeli comment that CLEARLY says that Israel's action are NOT JUSTIFIED! Please provide some links if you can.

  • mono (i hate that nickname for you but it's a pain to keep going to noke), i agree that many (58% to be exact) israeli people would like peace. the question is , does their definition of peace coincide with ours? if peace for them means they won't bomb burn massacre us if we do what they say, then, like ninawah, i spit on their peace. of course i don't like bloodshed, we all don't.
BUT, if you want to look far into the future, if you want to avoid history repeating its sickening self over and over again (btw it's exactly the same, i was 'reading' history last night), you have to break this cycle of submission, and then we can talk peace, on both our terms.
