sauna

i opened the door to the sauna. It was dark, stuffy and smelled of incense. and there in all naked glory sat an older woman, yoga-style, facing the wall, meditating. i was surprised to see her stark naked so i stepped back out. when i reentered she was standing there sprinkling water over the thing that emits heat, again, naked with everything there, in your face. next to the sign that said NO WATER IN SAUNA. she sprayed it like she was feeding chickens. it was clearly her own private yoga idaho. and then she was strutting around the lockers, again naked. i found the situation hilarious and laughed and laughed hysterically. and she was unfazed, sat there with the wall, fingers in midair, poised to float naked. my friend and i felt uncomfortable after a while and left. but i can't help admiring this woman who was oblivious in her nakedness to our scorn and prudishness and was so comfortably exposed to our uncomfortable stares. as opposed to me and friend fidgeting in our towels and victorian swimsuits because there was a naked woman (horror!) in the room. and not half as comfortable in our own clothed skins, and perhaps, closed minds.

  • it's our culture..but i admire her too, being so comfortable with herself even as an old hag

  • Totally about culture...
guys too walk around naked in locker rooms, and at school gyms, you find your old prof strolling around leisurely, in his birthday suit!!
I am more used to it now, no I'm not becoming an exhibitionist, but more comfortable with nudity. you should try it's liberating, just like using Laila's little 'i's :)

  • yeah it's totally a cultural thing like others mentioned. I'm used to it because I went to highschool here and during gym classes or after football practice or whatever sport I'm playing we're all buck nekkid in da showers. And in uni you have your profs strutting around buck nekkid too, kinda disturbing.

My brothers on the other hand to shower at the gym because they're too afraid to show their privates to the world. They're pure Leb.
